The Narrow Belt Sorter is designed for precise, high speed sortation of cartons, totes, and packaged products where product stability and controlled transfers are required. It uses 1-1/4 inch wide Ultimate 240 belts running on UHMW guide tracks spaced on 3-1/2 inch centers, providing continuous product support while allowing space for integrated diverting devices. A fully lagged, machine crowned 8 inch drive pulley with a 1-7/16 inch shaft delivers consistent belt traction, while a crowned 4 inch tail pulley supports smooth belt return and tracking.
Pneumatic belt tensioning maintains alignment and performance under varying load conditions, with maximum belt speeds up to 300 feet per minute based on product size and weight. The sorter handles products up to 60 pounds and includes safety pop out rollers at both ends for system protection. Sortation is accomplished using either a 90 degree roller transfer with urethane covered high speed rollers or a 30 degree skewed wheel diverter with urethane covered drive wheels. Diverters are independently driven for controlled timing and placement, supporting sorting rates up to 60 sorts per minute in distribution, fulfillment, and manufacturing environments.
