The Powerhouse conveyor is designed to move massive loads on an assembly line weighing in excess of 12,000 lbs. It is a model CD280 2-strand chain drag conveyor with optional equipment added to support and move these loads. To withstand the weight, the frame and supports are a heavy-duty structural steel construction. The No. 80 chain carries the loads guided by removable steel wear strips and has a sensor that will notify the controller in the event a chain brakes. Also, there is galvanized traction tread grating mounted between the 2 chains. These were added because the conveyor is mounted with platforms on either side where people are working and provides a safe way to crossover.
