Chain drag conveyors are heavy duty material handling systems designed to transport pallets, drums, totes, and other rigid loads along a fixed path. They use one or more strands of continuous chain that travel within a steel frame, pulling the load directly or supporting it from below. The chain is driven by a motorized sprocket assembly and guided along wear rails to maintain consistent tracking and load control.
These conveyors are commonly selected for applications where positive load movement is required, especially in environments with heat, debris, or impact that would limit the use of rollers or belts. Chain drag conveyors are well suited for accumulation, transfers, and integration with automated systems. Their modular construction allows for straight runs, curves, and custom layouts while maintaining precise load positioning.
Built for long service life, chain drag conveyors support high static loads and operate reliably in demanding industrial conditions. System configurations can be tailored based on load size, weight distribution, and interface requirements with upstream or downstream equipment.
CD280 | 2-Strand Chain Drag Conveyor
The CD280 2-strand chain drag conveyor is a heavy-duty conveying solution engineered for transporting rigid unit loads such as pallets and specialty tote pans. It uses twin continuous chains guided through a wear-resistant UHMW rail system and driven by a gear-motor assembly to pull loads steadily along the conveying path.
